Lead-Safe Renovation Initial Course
Lead-Safe Renovation Initial Course
Lead-Safe Renovation Initial Course (8 Hours)
This training is required to qualify students for Wisconsin Lead-safe Renovator certification. Beginning April 22, 2010, renovation work will require certification when performed for compensation in a dwelling or child-occupied facility built before 1978 and it disturbs 6 sq. ft. or more of paint per room, 20 sq. ft. or more of exterior paint, or involves windows. Morning refreshments will be provided.
Training will consist of: Learning and practicing lead-safe renovation skills. Participants successfully completing the skills session and written test will earn a State of Wisconsin certificate. This will allow for renovation involving work in homes or child-care facilities which may contain lead paint.
This course will offer an initial five-year certification from the State of Wisconsin, EPA, to conform with April 2010 requirements for working in buildings or dwellings which may contain lead paint. Training will consist of practical and demonstrated safe practices for meeting the EPA's Certified Lead Renovator course requirements. Successful completion of the course will lead to certification from the state to allow organizations to conduct renovation involving work on structures which may contain lead paint. An instructor-participant ratio is limited to 1:8.
