Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) and the Chippewa Valley Innovation Center (CVIC) hosted a Workplace Safety 101 workshop which was held on Monday, June 14, 2010, 8:00-10:00 am at the CVIC located at 3132 Louis Avenue, Eau Claire. The workshop was made available to create awareness of the importance of implementing a workplace safety program, insight on how to successfully implement a program and the importance of maintaining it. Steven Senor an instructor and program coordinator for the Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) and  authorized MSHA, OSHA,  American Red Cross , First aid and CPR trainer shared his experience in emergency preparedness and response training and services, incident command and fire safety and was available for one on one consulting sessions after the presentation. 

The Workplace Safety 101 workshop is part of CCEDC’s Business Retention program.  CCEDC strives to offer training, informational sessions and networking opportunities through-out Chippewa County to provide our business leaders with the resources needed for success.

“Most employees have the expectation that their workplace will offer a safe environment in which to do work. Some workplaces are safer than others just as some occupations offer more safety than others” stated Charlie Walker, President/CEO of CCEDC.  “Workplace safety ranks high on the list of goals for most workplaces for that reason CCEDC felt it was important to offer this training session.”

The cost was $15 per person and CCEDC hosted over 12 attendees..
