Mark your calendar for February 16. 2010! That is when Momentum West, a 10-county external marketing and collaborative economic development organization in west central and northwest Wisconsin) will host a joint legislative advocacy event in Madison, Wisconsin.

CCEDC is serving on the legislative committee and assisting the organization with planning the event. Currently, tentative plans call for attendees to arrive in downtown Madison by 11:00 a.m. for a briefing on important regional issues with all regional state elected officials, followed by lunch, afternoon appointments with other state legislators. Finally the organization will host a reception for elected officials and department heads before returning back home.

February 16th is designated as a legislative floor session, meaning the state senators and representatives are expected to be in their respective chambers or offices, thus there is greater likelihood of meeting directly with senators and representatives. CCEDC has communicated the importance of freight rail to Momentum West as an important economic development issue.
