Dagmar Beckel-Machyckova (pronounced "Match-a-cova") has accepted an offer to serve as Area Development Manager for Region #1 under Richard Leinenkugel for the Wisconsin Department of Commerce.  Dagmar comes to Commerce having served as the Business Assistant Specialist for the City of Eau Claire Economic Development Division and begins her duties on Tuesday, January 19.   Her office will be located in the Nanorite Center of Chippewa Valley Technical College, Eau Claire, Wisconsin.   

Dagmar will bring the enthusiasm, skills, and local area experience to this important role to assist business expansions, promote business retention, and help local development organizations in their respective territories. The WI Department of Commerce Area development managers use their knowledge of federal, state, and regional resources to provide a variety of information to expanding or relocating firms. They also mobilize resources to help struggling businesses. Local economic development practitioners can turn to area development managers for assistance with long-term marketing and planning strategies.
