Economic Development Tools will be discussed during the next SBA meeting

Promoting economic development and growth in Stanley’s business and industrial sectors will be the topic for a special meeting of the Stanley Business Association (SBA) which is scheduled for February 16^th, 10:00am-noon at the Stanley Historical Society Museum, 228 Helgerson Street, Stanley.  The meeting is a result of the SBA’s January’s monthly meeting discussion with Charlie Walker, President/CEO of Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC)  and CCEDC’s plans to market Stanley to potential entrepreneurs and business owners regionally and nationwide.

During the February 16^th meeting there will be a presentation on EAGL-I, the CCEDC geographic information systems (GIS) Site Selection section website tool on the CCEDC website, www.chippewa-wi.com.  Following the presentation the floor will be open for a Q & A session regarding EAGL-I and economic development activities in the Stanley area.  

EAGL-I is a GIS based site selection tool. Developed in conjunction with economic development professionals, EAGL-i is a “sleek, streamlined tool that benefits communities of all sizes”. The tool features demographic, consumer expenditure, and work force reports aggregated around sites by drive time or radial distance. These reports present users with a detailed look at the site and its immediate market, and provide entrepreneurs with information they can use in expansion planning or developing start-up business plans. EAGL-i features include an enhanced reporting engine, utilizing Google™ Reports and other open-source solutions to provide a comprehensive look at the community and market surrounding a site. Each item in the report is displayed providing an all-encompassing analysis of data. Other features include site selection search capabilities and map icons for sites, land, commercial/office, and industrial locations.
