The contest offers start-ups judging and mentoring by veteran entrepreneurs, investors and service professionals who understand business startup; valuable prizes from nearly 30 sponsors; and the opportunity to showcase your plan in a way that attracts broad attention. Past entrants regularly report that the contest was invaluable in helping them develop and refine a business plan that turned their ideas into viable companies.
Since 2004, more than 1,800 entrepreneurs from more than 100 Wisconsin communities have participated in the contest, sharing over $100 million in cash and in-kind prizes. This year, contestants will compete for a $50,000 grand prize.
The deadline for entering is January 31st, 2011. For the initial stage, contestants are only required to submit a 250-word abstract describing their business concept.
