2011 Agricultural Enterprise Area Forum
2011 Agricultural Enterprise Area Forum
"Preparing for Wisconsin's Agricultural and Economic Future"
September 27, 2011
Wisconsin Dells
Forum attendees will engage with Professors Steven Deller and Bruce Jones from the UW-Madison's Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics as they share their perspectives on both the current status and future direction of agriculture in Wisconsin and how farmers, agri-businesses and local governments in Wisconsin's AEAs can best position themselves to take advantage of these trends. The forum will also provide information regarding state programs and resources to help grow your area's agricultural economy through presentations by the newly-formed Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation and from the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection's Division of Agricultural Development.
Afternoon breakout sessions will provide an opportunity to meet with individuals from the state's other Agricultural Enterprise Areas to learn about their efforts to promote farmland preservation and agricultural development in their communities or for interested communities to attend training on developing a successful Agricultural Enterprise Area petition.
Register online or call Coreen Fallat at 608-224-4625. Registration fee is $25, which includes lunch and refreshments.
