WEDC update shared during CCEDC networking lunch

The most recent Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) Brown Bag Networking Leadership Luncheon was held on Thursday, November 10th at The Blue Moose Grill & Steak House in Bloomer.
40+ attendees participated in this well-known networking event to hear a first-hand update regarding the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) formally the Wisconsin Department of Commerce. Raymond Dreger, Board member of the newly formed WEDC, a public/private entity in charge of attracting businesses to Wisconsin and retaining Wisconsin businesses gave a presentation about the history of the WEDC, the mission, vision, values of the corporation and future plans and how it will affect Chippewa County. Following Dreger’s presentation a update was given by Jeremy Holt of Applied Data Consultants about the CCEDC GIS web-based site selection tool EAGL-I. Holt shared the features of the site selection tool such as search capabilities, site specific demographic reporting and mapping capabilities.
CCEDC would like to thank our event sponsors M & I Bank, A part of BMO Financial Group and the People’s State Bank of Bloomer for their support and the Bloomer Chamber of Commerce and Bloomer IDC for their partnership and assistance in putting together this event.
CCEDC holds a Brown Bag Leadership Lunch once a month to provide Chippewa County business leaders the opportunity to get together for networking and to share ideas, products and services with other Chippewa County businesses.
