Governor Walker visits the Chippewa Valley
Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) board members and staff were on hand at an event at the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport to hear several important announcements from Governor Scott Walker that positively affect the residents and business leaders of the Chippewa Valley.
On Wednesday, January 30, Governor Walker conducted visits statewide to announce the newly appointed leader to the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), Reed Hall. Hall will be the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the WEDC and has been acting as interim CEO since November 2012. Governor Walker also took the opportunity to announce that the Chippewa Falls Lake Wissota Business Park has been officially certified as shovel ready. This announcement is great news for Chippewa County and prospective businesses interested in locating in the business park. The shovel ready certification can eliminate the process of locating a business on site up to 8 months-thus a shovel ready site means more interest in the location and is preferred by site selectors and businesses when looking for a new business location! CCEDC and Chippewa County has worked diligently through the process of shovel ready certification and are excited to announce this great news!
