Ropa Publishing, Incubator Success Story
The Bottom Line
PO Box 1857
Eau Claire, WI 54702
Dan Ropa has been the owner of The Bottom Line since October 1988. He purchased the newsletter from Broadcaster Services, Inc. After Ropa purchased the publication, he leased space from the Chippewa Valley Innovation Center for a year. The Chippewa Valley Innovation Center assisted Ropa with affordable office space adding the ability to be on the forefront of knowing about new companies emerging in the Chippewa Valley. The best features of the Chippewa Valley Innovation Center are "its open space and ability to conform to whatever fledging company that wished to became a tenant. In other words, the facility does a good job at customizing its work/office space with the needs of its clients. It has been a successful tool for economic development officials and financial institutions who want to support a new business. Its history of employment growth speaks for itself."
The Bottom Line, which is also a division of the Ropa Publishing Company, is a weekly newsletter that specializes in providing stories about new businesses, company relocations and expansions, legal news, civil and small claims cases, judgments, tax liens, bankruptcies, and building permits. It also includes a weekly column written by Ropa himself. the publication has grown from a 6-page weekly with about 400 subscribers to a 16-page weekly with more that 950 subscribers with an estimated 15,000 readers.
The goals of Ropa Publishing Company are to continue to grow the subscription base and continue to stay ahead of the curve on reporting business news and issues.
