Rod-N-Bobb's, Inc. was started in 1992 by owners Gary and Ann Bennis. The business came from one idea, and over the years has expanded into four other product lines. The Bennis's grew their business in the Chippewa Valley Innovation Center for the first year. In 1992, Rod-N-Bobb's was an award recipient of the Creating Your Own Business Contest held annually by the Economic Development Corporation in Eau Claire. The contest award was a cash prize of $1000 and an opportunity for a low interest loan, The next year Rod-N-Bobb's graduated from the Chippewa Valley Innovation Center and has been growing ever since. Gary Bennis commented on the Chippewa Valley Innovation Center saying, "The best features were inexpensive rent, and the Creating Your Own business Contest. Cash awards and low interest loans are great ways to get people excited about their new business ventures."

Rod-N-Bobb's Inc. specializes in fishing tackles. Rod-N-Bobb's started with one original fishing tackle product, a lightstick product which attaches to all fishing rods and bobbers. Since then Rod-N-Bobb's has expanded its products to four other product lines which include a highly innovative patented bobber line, night fishing lighted bobbers, bobberstops, and a new line of 11 products for 2004 called Tackle Beacon which are small lightsticks that can be inserted into plastic baits to make them glow. Gary and Ann Bennis, owners, stated that their business is booming and that they can't believe how sales at the beginning were at $15,000 will now approach, if not exceed, the $1 million mark.
