In 2000 Steve Jonjak, Robert Shakal, Terrance Banchy, Dean Siddons, Laverne Berg and Steve Burt, all having experience and expertise designing and manufacturing extrusion dies, made a major life decision to start their own manufacturing business. After securing financing, all they needed was a facility with suitable industrial space. A current tenant of the CVIC at the time recommended the Center to Premier Dies. The CVIC became an ideal solution for their space requirements. Jonjak thinking back to Premier Dies' beginning stated, "The CVIC happened to have space, and it was fortunate for us. The only downside is when you have to graduate and move on." Jonjak also thought that "The CVIC has a lot of little things provided that people don't think about...a copy machine, lunch room, Internet access, garbage service, compressed air, and more."

Business Profile

Premier Dies Corporation designs and manufactures slot coating and flat polymer dies, a take that requires significant space to house large metal cutting machinery. Premier Dies needed to find a building that would be large enough for the machinery it uses, and have the ability to meet expansion needs. The company used the CVIC's versatility to grow, moving into more CVIC space as more machinery has been needed and installed. In two years of production at the CVIC Premier Dies' sales have grown solidly.

Company Goals

Premier dies is currently focused on satisfying the needs of existing customers and on continuing to target new customers that require high quality dies.  Not taking on too much, too quickly, Premier dies will continue its steady growth and reevaluate its status along the way.

The long-range goal of Premier Dies is to be one of the largest dies manufacturers in the Chippewa Valley, a region that boasts an overwhelming share of the world's die manufacturing.
