Compressed Natural Gas for Chippewa County?
Compressed Natural Gas for Chippewa County?
The benefits of compressed natural gas for vehicles will be the topic of discussion for the next
Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) Brown Bag Networking
Leadership Lunch. This informative open discussion forum is scheduled for Wednesday,
January 18, 2012, 11:30am-1:00pm at General Beer Northwest, 2200 Lake View Drive,
Chippewa Falls.
Natural gas is a domestically produced and a clean-burning alternative fuel. The interest in
natural gas as an alternative transportation fuel is increasingly popular and stems mainly from
its clean-burning qualities, its domestic resource base, and its commercial availability. The event
presenter, Bryan Nudelbacher, Business Analyst, US Oil, will shared information regarding
the benefits of using compressed natural gas for fueling vehicles. Chippewa County businesses
that operate niche market fleets such as refuse hauling, taxi’s, package delivery, or specially
designed vehicles that serve very specific functions, are ideal candidates for the adoption of
alternative fuels and advanced vehicle technologies. This event is being designed to provide
attendees information on the use of compressed natural gas in vehicles as well as provide an
opportunity for open forum discussion on the topic.
“Natural gas is produced domestically at relatively low cost and is cleaner burning than gasoline
or diesel fuel. Natural gas vehicles show an average reduction in ozone-forming emissions and
is estimated to cost approximately 40 percent less than gasoline vehicles,” stated Charlie
Walker, President/CEO of CCEDC. “learning the benefits as well as fuel cost savings is the first
step to moving forward to utilization of this form of energy.”
The CCEDC Brown Bag Networking Leadership lunch is sponsored by US Oil and
General Beer Northwest, thus attendance is free of charge; however advanced registration is
required. For more information regarding this event or to register please contact Jerilyn Sahr at
