Down Syndrome Footprint Accepting Nominations for Employer and Employee Awards

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wisconsin (March 28, 2012) – Down Syndrome Footprint, an organization dedicated to awareness, employment, and empowerment of people with Down syndrome, is accepting nominations for both employer and employee awards.

Down Syndrome Footprint is seeking nominations to help celebrate and recognize employers and employees that value employment opportunities for individuals with Down syndrome. The organization would like to identify these organizations and thank them for making our local, regional, and state communities a better place.

―Although Down syndrome awareness and acceptance continues to improve, there is still work to be accomplished in the area of employment opportunities for those with Down syndrome,‖ Katia Hauser, co-founder of Down Syndrome Footprint, said. ―It is the hope of Down Syndrome Footprint that someday our goal will not only be to have acceptable employment—it will be to have dream-worthy employment opportunities for those with Down syndrome,‖ Hauser continued.

Both employer and employee award winners will receive national recognition, a handcrafted wooden plaque, and a gift certificate to the Down Syndrome Footprint store.
