Hixwood Metal Inc. in Stanley, WI was the location for a Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) networking lunch meeting with the Office of Business Development. During the roundtable discussion Nancy Mistele, Director of the State’s office discussed their role in business development. Mistele shared that the Office of Business Development is an advocate for business and is available to assist in solving problems, getting answers or reducing the regulatory burden of state government. During her brief presentation Mistele gave examples of when the Office of Business Development was able to assist business cut through red tape to solve problems, identify laws and rules that need to be reformed and link to various resources and services available in Wisconsin for economic development projects. Attendees had the opportunity for networking and to share information on issues impacting business and were provided a tour of Hixwood Metal Inc.
The primary mission of the CCEDC is to be a catalyst for economic development in Chippewa County and foster a strong economic environment which supports businesses and nurtures growth and new investment in the region. For that reason we made this opportunity available for business owners/leaders to attend.
The event was held on February 3, 2016 and was sponsored by BMO Harris Bank.
