ALM Bootcamp Comp

Chippewa County employers are currently undergoing a skills gap issue and continue to experience difficulty in recruiting, promoting, and retaining qualified and motivated individuals. A major goal of the Chippewa County EDC is to assist, provide, and collaborate in solving this issue- especially in the manufacturing arena. In an effort to address the skills gap issues a team consisting of private sector manufacturers, educators, Workforce Resource, and the Boy Scouts of America worked together to design a customized training program meant to attract new employees into the workforce, strengthen workforce skills, help reduce rural youth out migration and increase a pool of workforce ready employees, enhance the skillsets of the participants, and promote workforce retention- thus the Chippewa County Manufacturing Boot Camp was created. This unique six week Chippewa County program provides customized training opportunities with both classroom and hands-on instruction related to manufacturing- entering it’s last week the Boot Camp have 20+ participants graduate and be workforce ready.
